CONSULTANT 12/82 - present
Independent consultant, specializing in microprocessors, particularly the IBM Personal Computer, and data communications and automated material handling work, and in the Internet, both on the Web Server Side, and building Web Pages.

SPS AUTOMATED SYSTEMS 12/78 - 12/82
When I began working for the company it was called Clay Bernard Systems International (CBSI), but it was subsequently purchased by SPS Technologies (Jenkinstown, PA) and the name was changed to SPS Automated Systems. While at CBSI/SPS I held several different positions, each having both technical and management responsibilities:


Manager of Commercial Software Systems 1/82 - 12/82

Management duties -- Responsible for Software Department (seven staff programmers, five contract programmers, plus secretary). Department handled all commercial projects for custom automated material handling systems (both host/data base level and microprocessor/machine control computers, plus handled some machine control work for Government Software Department.

Technical Duties -- Led detailed system design for all projects, and did varying amounts of actual implementation.

** Generalized Conveyor Controller

Senior Systems Analyst / Project Manager 7/80 - 12/81

Management duties -- Managed project through acceptance testing, coordinating test activities, negotiating discrepancies, etc. through final customer acceptance of system, and subsequently as project went into post-acceptance warranty support period with resolution of "punch list" items

Technical duties -- Did complete system design and major parts of the application code for a Work-in-Process control system for a printed circuit board manufacturing plant.


Systems Analyst / Facilities Manager 12/78 - 6/80

Management duties -- Responsible for Computer Operations Department (three operators), plus manager of Software Site Representatives (four), who were in turn responsible for software at their respective sites.

Technical duties:
** Responsible for Tandem SYSGENs and other operating system maters at all sites
** Responsible for computer room operation in Tulsa
** Acted as staff consultant to other programmers, plus did major amounts of coding myself, in areas of:
** Infrastructure (standards for program layout, method of doing inter-process communication, general utility routines, etc)
** Communications

** Bisync -- 3270 Simulation, EXPAND, HASP RJE (EXCHANGE)
